Today

~ a walk followed by hot chocolate with whipped cream on top
~ playing with blocks and cars with my boy
~ finishing A Game of Thrones and wishing I had book two, but knowing I have to wait for 48 other people to be finished with it
~ chicken soup in the crockpot
~ listening to Rilo Kiley while knitting a gift
~ wondering what waste yarn is
~ knowing I'll figure it out when the time comes

Waste Yarn is just an extra bit of yarn that you use either to hold stitches or for a special cast-on. I'd suggest using something smooth, cotton if you have some, the same size or smaller than the yarn you're working with.

...assuming this is a knitting thing.

This day sounds delightful.

I think I have decided to watch the next Game of Thrones television season before reading the second book. I did that with the first book, and it worked delightfully well as a study guide/detail-filler. Or not! I don't know. We'll see.

Annika - Thank you. I think it must be to hold stitches then. It's for a thumb-hole.

Amy - I can't watch it as I don't have that channel and probably never will. I will await DVD or Netflix. I hope it's good! I really enjoyed the book. Also, I didn't know about the show until I already had the book home from the library.

The show is super pretty. My main complaint is that it's very HBO-y, in the way that all HBO's shows are these days.
