One Week

This week has totally flown by. I've only got one more day of Pat at home-ness and it's really bumming me out. And Silas has been out of womb for a whole week! Plus another hour and a half! It seems impossible.

Last night was really awesome sleep-wise. After a couple of nights of pure misery because Silas was nursing pretty much non-stop and frequently being dissatisfied even while nursing, he decided he was actually going to let me sleep. He still nursed frequently, just every hour or two instead of every twenty minutes. And we both slept during the nursing and in between nursings. And every time he woke up to nurse, he just started moving and making small noises, no fussing, no crying. Irina even got to sleep the whole night through. She had been having a tough time of it.

So I felt so great from getting actual sleep that I thought maybe today would be a good day to go out. We went to the library and to Target. The library was fine and I wore Silas in my old sling and nursed him and even went to look for some books of my own. After that I probably should have called it quits, but we needed some things from Target, so we just went for it. By the time we were finished there, I was so exhausted and hurting in my back area (I think this is actually a hip bone problem more than a back problem, but my back is where I feel it) that I was ready to call off any more outings for at least another week. Doesn't help that none of my clothes fit and I look like a big frump who's not pregnant but still waddles. Feh. Still, I feel quite improved from last week, so another week ought to make even more of a difference.

And with that, here's some more pics, including Silas's first outing at the libe.
