Today we all went to the optometrist. By all, I mean Saren, Harper, and I had appointments and Pat and Irina just came along. Pat had an appointment last month and has since joined the ranks of the four-eyed. Harper is nearsighted in one eye and farsighted in the other, which is... odd. According to the doctor she'll need to wear her glasses all the time and her vision in the worse eye (the nearsighted one, I think, though I could be wrong), will get better and then she probably won't need the glasses anymore. Saren is nearsighted, much like myself, and also much like myself, is probably doomed to wear glasses for the rest of her life. Or contacts, eventually. And maybe one day she'll decide to get lasik eye surgery, so I shouldn't make such sweeping statements. My own prescription hadn't changed much in the last six years since I had been to an optometrist, so that's a good sign. The degeneration of my eyesight is finally slowing down.
Next topic! We're in the middle of book two on Harry Potter now. It's kind of lost its shine for Harper, but Saren is still really loving it. It's not like she's not familiar with the books, so I'm really glad that she's enjoying it. They so rarely want me to read to them anymore. I do two chapters a night as that's when my voice starts to give out.
Next topic! Yesterday Saren worked all day long on this project. Stay tuned for her next Club Penguin movie!
Next topic! I need some help making a Leaving Las Vegas CD. So far I have Leaving Las Vegas by Sheryl Crow (duh) and Roll on Down the Highway by The Donnas. Just for reference, I'll be listening to this CD as we leave Las Vegas for good (myself after living here for 20 years, feeling like Las Vegas was a magnet I couldn't get away from) in an RV that we plan on living in for a short or long time; living, learning, and looking for that certain somewhere that speaks to us. These should be happy songs, they should be travelling songs or searching songs, or living your dreams songs, or leaping before you know the net is there songs, or.... well, if you have any suggestions, please let me know. It would suck to just have two songs to listen to over and over for that first leg of our journey. That might start things off on the wrong foot.
Next topic! I am turning 33 on Saturday.

Aw! You all have goggles! Your children are the cutest things on the planet, and glasses can only add to that. Maybe Harper needs the FrankenGlasses that Sawyer has on Lost?
That movie was totally awesome! Good work, Saren!
I totally like sending you songs! I will try to gather some songs for you! Um. They don't necessarily have to be about Las Vegas, right? Just checking.
Oh, no. They don't have to be about Las Vegas. I'm not too keen on hearing Elvis or anything. I expect that the Sheryl Crow one will be the only one with the words Las Vegas even in it. I've been planning on listening to that song as I leave Las Vegas since it came out. Like 10 years ago? Pathetic.
i sent you a list of songs, but there's another version of "what a wonderful world" by Joey Ramone - a much more upbeat beat!
Hey! It's Saturday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
My suggestion is "Life Is A Highway" by Tom Petty, or Rascal Flatts, whichever you prefer.
