A round loom is worth a thousand fingers.

At the conference, there was a funshop called Round Loom Knitting. We didn't go to it, but I saw a lot of people doing it while listening to talks or just sitting in a common area. And a lot of people were walking around with hats they had made with the looms. I decided to pick up a round loom yesterday (actually a kit with four of them in it) because it looked like something that would be much less frustrating for Saren and Harper than knitting with needles. I started making a hat today and Saren is working on making a bag. It has turned out to be really good for Saren and she's loving it. She was always really good at finger knitting and this is just like finger knitting only with lots of extra fingers that you can just leave the yarn on.

I also got Saren a latch hook for her latch hook rug kit that we bought some time ago, but then realized it didn't come with a hook (what kind of kit is that?). It's a picture of a kitty (go figure) and she got the hang of that pretty quickly too.

And, as long as I was at it, I also bought some Crayola fabric markers and two white t-shirts. Saren and Harper decorated them today with... go on! Guess!
